My PBC Story Text Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Terms & Conditions”) apply to individuals who have consented to receive text message communications from Gilead Sciences Inc. and its affiliates, business units and its agents, including service providers on its behalf (collectively, “Gilead”) as part of enrollment in Gilead’s patient program events, My PBC Story.

  1. By opting in to receive text messages, you have consented to receive automated text message communications from Gilead for event reminders connected to My PBC Story programs.
  2. You are not required to consent to receive text messages to participate in My PBC Story, purchase any goods or services, or to receive any other communications you have selected.
  3. You can opt out of receiving texts from Gilead’s My PBC Story by replying “STOP” to any message at any time. Doing so will only opt you out of this program; you will remain opted in to any other Gilead text message program(s) into which you opted separately. An unsubscribe message will be sent to your mobile number confirming the cancellation, but no more messages will be sent after that one.
  4. You can text “HELP” in response to any message to receive help.
  5. You represent that you are the account holder for the mobile telephone number(s) that you provide to opt into My PBC Story. You are responsible for notifying Gilead immediately if you change your mobile telephone number.
  6. The number of text messages you receive will vary in frequency. There is no fee payable to Gilead to receive text messages; however, your carrier's message and data rates may apply. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  7. Data obtained from you in connection with My PBC Story may include your telephone number, your carrier’s name, and details of the message (date, time, and content). Gilead may use this information to contact you and to provide the services you request. Any data that Gilead may collect from you in connection with My PBC Story will be handled in accordance with the Gilead Privacy Policy, available at https://www.gilead.com/privacy-statement
  8. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
  9. Gilead cannot guarantee the successful delivery of text messages. Factors beyond the control of Gilead may impact message delivery, including equipment range and functionality, network capacity, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. Neither Gilead nor your mobile service provider carrier will be held liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  10. The text message program may not be available on all US carriers. This Program is available only on these US participating mobile carriers: Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
  11. Gilead may immediately suspend or terminate your participation if it believes you are in breach of these Terms & Conditions. Your participation in this program is also subject to termination in the event that your mobile telephone service terminates or lapses. Gilead reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, all or any part of the My PBC Story program, with or without notice.
  12. Gilead may revise, modify, or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any such revision, modification, or amendment shall take effect when it is posted to Gilead’s website. You agree to review these Terms & Conditions periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes. Your continued consent to receive text messages will indicate your acceptance of those changes.

LIVDELZI is not recommended for use in people who have advanced liver disease (decompensated cirrhosis). Symptoms of advanced liver disease may include confusion; having fluid in the stomach area (abdomen); black, tarry, or bloody stools; coughing up or vomiting blood; or having vomit that looks like “coffee grounds”.

It is not known if taking LIVDELZI will improve your chance of survival or prevent liver decompensation.

It is not known if LIVDELZI is safe and effective in children.

Important Safety Information

What are the possible side effects of LIVDELZI?

LIVDELZI can cause serious side effects, including:

  • Bone fractures. Taking LIVDELZI may increase your risk of bone fractures. Tell your healthcare provider about any bone fractures, or if you develop pain, or have changes in your ability to move around.
  • Changes in liver tests. Increased liver enzymes in the blood have happened when taking more LIVDELZI than prescribed. Your healthcare provider will do tests to check your liver before you start and during treatment with LIVDELZI.

Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following signs or symptoms of worsening liver problems during treatment with LIVDELZI:

  • swelling of your stomach area (abdomen) from a build-up of fluid
  • yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes
  • pain on the right side of your stomach (abdomen)
  • black, tarry, or bloody stools
  • coughing up or vomiting blood, or your vomit looks like “coffee grounds”
  • mental changes such as confusion, being sleepier than usual or harder to wake up, slurred speech, mood swings, or changes in personality

The most common side effects of LIVDELZI include headache, stomach (abdominal) pain, nausea, abdominal swelling (distension), and dizziness.

Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. These are not all the possible side effects of LIVDELZI.

What should I tell my healthcare provider before taking LIVDELZI?

Tell your healthcare provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

  • have advanced liver disease.
  • think you may have a blockage of the bile ducts in your liver (biliary obstruction).
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if LIVDELZI will harm your unborn baby.
    • Pregnancy safety study. If you become pregnant while taking LIVDELZI, tell your healthcare provider right away. There is a pregnancy safety study for women who take LIVDELZI during pregnancy. Talk to your healthcare provider about providing information to the LIVDELZI pregnancy safety study. The purpose of this pregnancy safety study is to capture information about your health and your baby’s health. You or your healthcare provider can report your pregnancy by calling 1-800-445-3235.
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. It is not known if LIVDELZI passes into your breast milk. Talk with your healthcare provider about the best way to feed your baby if you take LIVDELZI.

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Certain other medicines may affect the way LIVDELZI works.
